Station XIII: Jesus is Taken Down From the Cross

Loving hands remove the nails from his hands and feet. Loving hands wrap his body in a shroud. Loving eyes weep tears of bitter sorrow. The Son of God is dead. The debt of my sin is paid, and now our Lord must rely those he loved to carry him to his final resting place.

May we too learn to love and carry one another in times of despair and sorrow. Amen.

My God is taken down from the cross, and he is taken down with love.

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, have mercy on us sinners. Remember us when you come into your kingdom. +
