Station III: Jesus Falls for the First Time

Who can bear the weight of the world? Is it even possible? Can this man…..this Jesus….even make it to the hill where he shall meet death face to face?

Despised and rejected, the Word made Flesh falls. The angels cry with sorrow as the Lamb of God stops his progress in pain and anguish.

Christ falls to the ground; and declares his solidarity with us. In falling to the ground, our Lord becomes a brother to those overwhelmed by grief and pain. A companion to those who are doubled over with feelings of guilt and despair.

My God falls for me, and does so with love.

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, have mercy on us sinners. Remember us when you come into your kingdom +
