Station XIV: Jesus is Laid in A Tomb

The Word of God has fallen silent. Family and friends have prepared the body with rich aloes and cassia. They are ready to say goodbye to their Lord.

May we always have strength to say goodbye to those we love but see no longer.

A stone is placed at the entrance, and we hope wait for the dawn.

My God is placed in a tomb, and he is placed there with love.

O God, Creator of heaven and earth:
as the crucified body of your dear Son
was laid in the tomb and rested on this holy Sabbath,
so may we await with him the coming of the third day,
and rise with him to newness of life;
who now lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, have mercy on us sinners. Remember us when you come into your kingdom. +

    Hi, I love this painting and have used it for “Stations of the Cross” at the Retirement Community where I am the Chaplain. Can you tell me the name of the artist and any info? Thanks, Denise Bennett
